3 Vegetables to Plant in Your Spring 2022 Garden
Cucumbers make for an excellent addition to any spring garden. |
Arugula and mixed lettuces
Arugula, romaine, and other lettuce plants will provide the base foundation for all the salads you could put together with your other veggies! Since greens don't do so well in heat, they're much easier to plant in the spring in comparison to those hot summer months. In general, it's advised to harvest after at least 30 days.
Cucumbers
Although cucumbers won't be the best option for early spring, they're still worth planning space for during this time of year; they'll use most of your garden space. They won't handle the frost like other crops do (for instance, potatoes), so you'll want to wait until late spring to drop their seeds in the ground.
Tomatoes
Tomatoes, like cucumbers, also do best in late spring. They'll make an important addition to your garden because they're a rich source of Vitamin C, and are known for reducing the risk of heart disease!
To complement the vegetables growing in your garden, you'll want to plant beautiful wildflowers in your yard. These are best planted in early spring, and you can find them at our store near Mansfield, Ohio. We also have plenty of fertilizer, soil conditioners, chemicals for weed reduction, organic solutions, grass seed mixtures, and more.
